Jeff,
Sportsman buying out the Sportsman catgories is old and bad news. Peanuts in return for huge financial exposure. And nobody will agree on anything, even if you had some fat cat investor.

Adger,
I would really like to see your prospectus for taking over the Sportsman side of the sport. Especially your proposed profit; if any.

Wally & Co. hope we will all sleep soundly while they try to pass their rather over ripened tomato on to these new suckers....er eh, I mean busnessmen. Of course NHRA never, never, ever would be on the block to begin with. And to think they reached these numbers with a little ol non profit that was written on a poor man's kitchen table.

Bruce,
Did my post say anything about any prospectus I had? No, I just responded that, in simplistic terms, I had been involved in a few conversations about Jeff's topic.
As far as available profit, I am of the opinion sportsman racing is & could be very valuable. Sprotsmen racing series, when combined with all the profit sources that weren't sold , could be very profitable.
There is more to this racing business than is shown on "Face Value"
If there was no value to it I would think Wally & the Boys would have sold it ALL as a package deal. It is my opinion they know they have a product that they can profit from, either by sale or working the product.

I would like to be on the Board of a new not-for-profit Sportsman racing association. I'll only take a meager $200,000 salary. Well, plus benefits, a car, etc. Just doing what I can to serve the racing community.

Michael,

Would you truly be willing to take such a meager salary with limited benefits such as that? I'm happy to see you would sacrafice your current lifestyle to support this organization.

I'm available on a part time basis if needed!

As long as I don't have to relocate. ;-) And the "etc." was "plus expenses"

I'll handle the website, and help with the magazine and ad/media departments.

Only thing is, NHRA Pro Racing has the branding rights. Even if a group bought 'NHRA Sportsman', it would be worthless without the name "NHRA" attached to it. As much as people fuss about them, they also run NHRA because of the name brand.
