A friend sent me this photo the other day.It is out of his personal collection and has never been posted on the net before.
As far as I know, this car is the first Stock Eliminator car to run in the tens at an NHRA sanctioned event. (10.96, @ the 1971 Gatornationals) Yes , I know Jim Waldo was the first 8 lb Stocker in the tens later in the decade. This was a 7 lb. car ,on 7" tires. Mark Mazzotta was the driver. Dave Lebrun drove his 69 Camaro B/Stocker that year , and Joe DeLorenzo was the man behind the wheel of the team's C/S Chevelle . (Winner and runner -up, respectively at the 1971 Grandnational/ Molson event) All three cars were 427/ 425hp equipped. This pic appears to be in the pits @ Indy (in 1971.) Let's see some more pics from Indy ,with the year, if possible..... ![]()
