The Mid Atlantic Super Gas Association (MASGA) will get back into the swing of things July 18th & 19th at Cecil County Dragway in Rising Sun, Md. Entry into the track on Saturday and Sunday will be $ 35.00 per day plus any crew members and then $ 70.00 per day paid to Lucky or Leanne Luciano. Gates will open at 8am on both Saturday and Sunday and time shots will start beginning at 9am both days. You will receive 2 qualifying shots per day before eliminations start and then placed on a NHRA style ladder with the higher qualified car getting lane choice for 1st round ONLY! We do run on a real .400 Pro tree not like the .370 tree used in NHRA Divisional and National Events. Payout is based on a 32 car field and the winner’s purse is $ 1,000.00 based on a 32 car field. It may change if exceed 32 cars entered and it is open to ANY NHRA/IHRA SUPER GAS/ROD 9.90 INDEX CARS. For anyone coming from a long distance you will be able to park on Friday night due to Cecil County having a street night that evening. The MASGA trailers should park on the spectator side of the track (Gate 2 or the Dirt Side) to make it easier for pairing for 1st round and for us to go up all together for time shots. There are a few reserved spots on the asphalt area on that side so please DO NOT PARK IN THOSE AREAS. Also if this is your first time out this year you still have a shot at the championship if you want to become a member. To make it fair for the racers who can’t make all the events MASGA only counts 6 out of 10 races towards your final point’s total. So far we have only been able to complete 2 out of the 4 events due to rain so if you make the next 3 weekends of racing you maybe taking home the trophy at the end of the year.
Saturday night will be the gala of all BBQ’s as it is the ANNUAL UNCLE BUCK’S PIG ROAST. If you have never been to this event it is one to see as Buck and his gang cook a 125pd and share it with all the Super Gas racers, crew and family to enjoy. The best of it all is that it is FREE with your SUPER GAS admission into the race. If you have any questions please feel free to e-mail myself at ReKeister@aol.com or Leanne at Leanneluciano@hotmail.com or visit the website at www.midatlanticsupergas.com. 2008 Winners: Saturday’s event: Winner: Hollis Colleasure, San Dimas, Calif R/U: Dave Source Orangeville, Pa Sunday’s event: Winner: George Donhauser, Bel Air, Md R/U: Don Knoblick, Bath, Pa Last edited by BKSG1198; 06-26-2009 at 04:02 AM. |

Also if anyone is planning or still on the fence about going to the Numidia Sony/PC Richards National Open the following weekend on July 25th, MASGA will be running 2 races the following weekend at Numidia on August 1st & 2nd. Due to it being such a far drive for most of you racers you WILL BE ALLOWED TO LEAVE YOUR TRAILERS AT THE TRACK OVER THE WEEK to save on gas and some travel costs. Let's support the Diminio family who have put a lot of time, money and effort into the track to make it one of the best on the east coast.
Finally anyone who wants a quick tune-up before the Toyo Tires Nationals at Maple Grove the final race of the season (Weather permitting) will be held at Atco Raceway August 15th & 16th which is the weekend before the Nationals. All information on gate times and prices will follow once I get the information. Rob |

Jack,
You've been taking real good pictures in all the rain lately so maybe you can just say you are the MASGA photographer for the event plus I would like to see the "Live from the MASGA Pig Roast" reports...haha 3:45pm - Uncle Buck has now turned the pig for the first time at a 65 degree angle to get the skin nice and brown and it's looking good...Oh yeah there's some S/G racing going on also....haha |

Jack,
Some people might not understand you reporting " Live from MASGA Pig Roast" but you know Uncle Buck and George D. bring out the best eats all season for this race at Cecil. Plus the rest of the S/G guys and gals make this the best race of the year!! Leave the car at home, take some pics, eat and enjoy!! Let other people around the country know that Div.1 S/G racers know how to race and have a great time at the same time! See you on the 18th!! Prostreetbird |
