Default Carburitis

Just got my new motor back from Parsons & Myers. Bruce fired the motor and did some pulls with a carb he had off of a smallblock Mopar like mine. We switched to my carb that I've been running forever and lost almost 50 HP. Yep you read that right 50HP. Mind you this carb seemed to work fine. A couple months ago on Class Racer I bought 2 carbs for my combination from Tim Hall in Calif. We bolted his primary carb on the motor and was within 1 hp of Bruce's carb. Bolted on Tim's backup carb and made 3 hp more than his carb. This just blew me away. (My first ever engine on a dyno). Now I'm wondering how much this carb will pick up my current engine in my car. Have any of you experienced this kind of gain or loss?

Yes I know what your talking about. Having run enough engines on our engine dyno I've run into similar situations with carburetors. You will be suprised how much it will affect your et.

Tried a BLP carb then switched to an Advanced Product Design carb and picked up 57HP (850 Holley Class Carb). John Kyle may not be big with the class racers, but his carbs make power and are consistent in the bracket racing community, which is what we are anyway
