This is one of the most innovative ideas that I've seen in a while. These are one of Conway Witten's creations. Very neat idea!

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone. Take care. |

Interesting!
I've heard of big numbers by re-directing the spark plug but unless the plug was pointing directly at the intake valve to start with, have had a hard time believing them. But I'm sure every bit helps. Any dyno improvement numbers available?

Hi Jeff,
I have heard that some super stock fellas have seen 5hp on the dyno when changing from a straight 14mm plug to these angled adaptors and 10mm plugs. I'm not sure which heads they where tested on though. These adaptors can be indexed to give you as much as 10 or 11 degrees I believe and they come in tapered and flat seat configurations. Another thing to consider is the fact that many engine dynos are blind to changes that affect engine acceleration and transient response at gear changes. The standard acceleration rate for water brake dyno tests is 600 rpm/sec. I'm pretty sure that many SS engines exceed this, especially in low gear. : ) Anyway, I for one plan on testing these more extensively with both dyno and on track anaylsis. I'm also curious to see what these adaptors could do for heads that have angled plugs already. Who's to say that the factory angle is best for every combination. I look at these as an additional tuning tool to find that little extra that we all seek. Take care jeff.

I would check with tech before running those in a stock or super stock car! I have heard those are not legal. Nice but not legal.

I agree, some years ago I brought up the subject with NHRA regarding using an adapter in a Ford FE engine to reduce the plug from 18mm/13/16" to 14mm/5/8" plug and was told Stock and Super Stock must use the OEM size spark plug designed for the specific cylinder heads.
