Can anyone explain how this rule change will affect GT?
Taken from the rules update section....... Super Stock Section 10B Page 155 (08/08) Designations: Delete second sentence in third paragraph "All cars must start with a stock shipping weight of 2,500 pounds or more." |

Its like telling you the minimum wt of GT cars. So you ADD to it while trying to make wt.
No car can start with a 2300 cavalier shipping and 170 driver and a lower hp motor. 2500 is the LEAST you can use to calculate from.... |

The rule is now 2670 is the min. wt possible for any class. The 2500lb is now deleted from the rulebook...
at least that is how I'm reading it. |

As I read it, any shipping weight to start with but 2670 minimum weight with driver.
The 2300 lb Cavalier referenced by Dick can run but it must weigh 2670 minimum.

John: That's the way I read it too. Not sure how or what effect this will have just quite yet. Was there a special car that was excluded for SS/GT?
Now, if only NHRA would open up GT for the station wagons! That would be cool. |

Wagons in SS/GT would be cool. I sent a email to NHRA requesting that consideration. I would love to race my 67 Wagon in SS with 71 455 HO Engine. I just cant get excited about a 326 Pontiac build up. In mean time the car is going together as a IHRA CRate Motor Car......
Let the long roofs run !! Don |

With this rule change, a Dodge Neon CAN run SS/GT and one with a 318 might be a killer combo... |
