Default TNT Series & Scott Jahren Paint Present 8.90 Race at TMP!

TONAWANDA, NEW YORK (May 13, 2008) When the Joe’s Transmission TNT Super Series comes to Toronto Motorsports Park (TMP) on Sunday September 14th for the seventh stop on the eight race tour, there will be more than just a 10.90 class. Thanks to Scott Jahren Paint, an 8.90 class will be contested. “We’ve always felt that the TNT Series would be more than just 10.90,” said TNT Series Director, Ted Barnes. “In talking with Scott Jahren during the off season, we decided to partner and try an 8.90 race this year.”

The event will follow IHRA’s Quick Rod rules – 8.90 index, heads up 4/10th’s tree, all-run field. And it will be held just one week prior to the IHRA national event at TMP. “It’s a great opportunity for everyone to get data for national event competition,” commented Scott Jahren, owner of Scott Jahren Paint. “We want to ensure this event is worthwhile for the racers so we’re using the existing TNT set-up. We’re also talking to some associate sponsors with details to be released shortly.”

Entry fee and payout structure is similar to TNT’s 10.90 class (payout based on car count). It costs $50 to race (plus track spectator entry fee)…The whole $50 goes into the payout bucket. There will be $25 round money for every round win and then winner/runner-up split the rest 2/3 , 1/3. “In a field of 16 cars, that’s $400/win,” added Ted. “If this event is successful, we may try more dates in 2009.”

Scott Jahren Paint has been creating show quality paint jobs for customers in the western New York and southern Ontario area for over 7 years. He paints everything from door cars to dragsters to helmets. If a paint scheme on a drag car catches your eye, chances are it came from the Tonawanda NY based operation. The next event on the Joe’s Transmission TNT 10.90 Super Series schedule is Friday June 13th at Dunn Tire Raceway Park.
