Re: Ignition Box Mounting
I’ve seen a lot of Chevy’s in the passenger footwell. Probably goes with the shorter wiring and don’t get it wet comments. I have a Ford and I think it’s going under the hood when I mount it but like you I’m open for ideas?
Also check out Bobby Fazio video interviews where he shows the interior, under hood and in the truck of a lot of cars, some good stuff there!

Re: Ignition Box Mounting
Our mopars are mounted behind the glove box
or right below in that general area.

Good morning to all,
I mounted my MSD on the passenger side toe board. Mostly because its convenient in case I have to service it. MSD recommends that the box/ ignition controls be placed where air can move around it and cool it. That's why they don't recommend putting it a "glove box" or enclosed location.
Respectfully,

Re: Ignition Box Mounting
Behind our Glove box door there is no longer a real actual
glove box or a heater box. It is totally open to air flow.
Sorry I was not clearer. It is protected from weather
inside car and some of outside heat out is mitigated a bit
as we live in Nevada.

Re: Ignition Box Mounting
IMHO, I put mine on the passenger side underneath the glove box on a hinged panel. Relay switch panel on the topside with all race-related wiring - MSD components on the underside. Coil mounted on the inside of the firewall just above the hinged panel.
Hinged panel allows for easy access while keeping it out of the way when racing. MSD on the underside allows easy access to MSD box settings and RPM chips (if you use them).

We did the same. Mounted the shift light dial on the inside of the glovebox door too. We were hesitant to put it on the floor or kick panels with kids and friends riding in the car for warmup and heading to the lanes.
