Looking good! You're going to need a clutch fork like this:
https://www.summitracing.com/parts/n...caAqljEALw_wcB
The throwout bearing needs to have about .300-.400" freeplay when the clutch is engaged, which means you won't have anything keeping the pushrod from falling out of the pocket in the fork. This way, you can use a rod end / heim joint to connect it to the fork. Keep it up, hope to see you out with it this season!

heim ends are the only way to go also make up a piece of tubing to go from the Z bar to the fork and put left and right hand threads so you can use helms along with lock nuts--- makes adjusting so much easier PLUS no way that its going to fall out of the assembly---FED 387

Yep...or you could do it the dime rocket way and use a heavy duty wound spring between the little hole on the fork and one on the equalizer arm.
Never had one come off,..and this is back when we used the clutch for every gear ;-)

Hey Everyone,
Been a bit! I thought we were turning a corner but the short block had its barriers as well. Total seal sent us the wrong rings and it was month before we turned them around. Add in the offseason maintenance on the super street ride and the malibu's progress really slowed.
However, we have the shortblock now assembled. We are really happy with the assembly, deck height, bearing clearance, cam installation etc.

What is everyone's thoughts here? There is not much threads for the head bolts. Should we go with studs?

It's the 21st century. Studs are legal in a "Stocker".

Was the block honed with a torque plate and bolts or studs?

Glenn,
I'm assuming the answer here is to use the same as what was used with the torque plate?
