In regards to Helmets, they are the only ones I have trusted for years, AND they were Made in the States, I just bought a new Simpson helmet and was chagrined to see the "Made in China" label

Im not saying "its not as good" Im just saying Simpson bike helmets have saved my life more times than I can count, I remeber paying $800 for a multi impact rated Simpson Indy type helmet when they first came out because well they were one of the few that were multi impact rated....lo and behold that helmet saved my life. Another Simpson saved my life after multiple tumbles and thuds on concrete at over 80mph and well....

I hope their new Simpson helmets are as good the Made in China just scares me a little.

Ill probably be hard pressed to find a good Snell approved helmet made in the US ? Anyone know of any ?

Edit I also meant to mention, because of the ongoing "decertification" notices on SFI's website over the last year or so for Impact items, that is why I didnt buy a helmet of theirs, Fear Uncertianty and Doubt, this will have a Major Impact on Impacts business....

Chris, when I bought my Simpson Helmet a while back all of the ones that are sized S-XXL are made in China, the ones sized by hat size were made in the states

#1. Don't have Impact Belts

#2. Have had to wear 3.2A/5 Jacket & Pants since 2001

#3. Bought my stuff all new in the fall of 2007 (I take care of my stuff & am very safety conscious)

#4. Also will have to replace, gloves (2) pair, neck collar, arm restraints, shoes (2) pair.

#5. Who will be screwed........many will be. Not everyone can afford to just run out and buy all new gear

Bryan you don't know that much about me at all it seems

I wasn't singling you, or anyone out in my response. Just pointing out how nobody should really be screwed, as you put it, by this ruling. I'm not happy about it either, but thankfully I'm not affected either! Everything I use that's Impact is new enough not to fall under the ruling!

Check your math. My belts are dated November 2008. I only got one season out of a $220 set of cam lock belts.
It’s unfortunate as the Impact belts are the best quality belts I have ever purchased. Now junk due to saving $3 on a tag.

I just got a call from my sis who is trying to get tech'd in at Great Bend's D5 race and was told Impact sent a memo out stating that their product is no longer certified. We had checked earlier this week and it was supposed to be good through this weekend. Don't know what happened but sure appreciate the cranial rectal inversion move from them.

FYI for others.
