WoW, Looks like all that Bill Simpson/Impact bashing was for nothing. Like I said, It looks like a misunderstanding. Lets hope Big Daddy's Challenger passes tech or some people here might be asking for him to be kicked out of the HOF. I hope all you people who got rid of your impact stuff are kicking yourself in the azz for throwing money away.

I still smell a rat in this situation. The previous shady deals,Hans device and pre 2009 decertification would steer me to another manufacturer. But that's only me.Everyone has to make their choice.

Ed I have to agree. My safety is way too important to risk it on a maybe or maybe not.

You just LOVE to make deragatory comments about fellow racers, companies, sanctioning bodies and whatever else is bugging you on a particular day.

However, not knowing ALL of the facts yet,I will say this:

IMPACT RACING pays contingency.I run their belts and got a check from them last year.
As long as their belts are acceptable and "legal" to use,I will continue to do so.

Obviously there has been some form of admittance of fraud by IMPACT. So now you have to guess if they cut any other corners. I am sorry but I have 3 kids and a beautiful wife at home. Just because a company pays contingency I am not willing to sacrifice my safety for a check. What if those belts have a cheaper thread or if the fire suits aremade with cheaper material to save a buck? Is that really worth taking the chance for a check? I work with companies that provide industrial safety equipment on a daily basis. If any one of them were to have similar issues they would be off of our vendor list the same day. A life is always worth more than a dollar.

I'm sorry I don't meet your standards.And actually I couldn't give a rats *****.
If you want to buy their stuff I'm surely not stopping you.I said it was only my opinion. Now go back to work on your car and maybe you'll go under the index this year.

This agreement was just a compromise to keep it out of a long court battle.
Anything older than 2009 is still no good.
I got my new Sparco stuff in yesterday.

Well good news for those with 2008 - 2009 products, I guess us guys with pre-2008 stuff are screwed....

Now if they replace your pre-2008 products with current certified products, I would have a different view on Impact......I remain skeptical though

Screwed???? Belts are only good for 2 years, so you would have needed new ones anyway! Last year was the first year we were required to wear pants, so they shouldn't have been out of date when you bought them! So how will anybody be screwed??? If your belts are affected by this ruling, you needed new ones anyway!!! The only thing that you may need to replace is your jacket! And If that's 3 years old, and you're so safety conscious, you should be replacing that anyway!
