Yea you can do it cheaper, just like you can race a "dime rocket" in stock but who really wants to and those cars aren't winning races much less championships in either venue today.[/QUOTE]

I put my "dime rocket" together for less than 8K 2008 dollars and I've done ok. If I was 40 years younger and a better driver, I'd probably done a lot better. And yes for me it's been a shoe polish show, never had a heads up.

Jim, I like when I'm quoted because it unhinges some here.

If you're happy being a 1st and 2nd round player more often than not, then I would a agree, you've done ok. BTW, that $8k would be over $12k today

Mario, clearly you don't leave the rock you live under. but at least you acknowledged that my former super stocker is badass

Knowing the guy who built his Chevelle motor, not even close to stock! Big cam, big compression, big carb , big manifold and head work. *♂️
Who are you fooling? Get off your pigmy pony horse and leave the real class racers alone.
Just making yourself look foolish. It?s not funny and it?s not helpful.

another that no longer races and when he did was an also ran!

Talk about what you know, not what you think you know.

Not fooling anyone, I never stated the 468 was stock, I stated the 396 was.

That said, you do not KNOW the guy that built the 468, I know him, you maybe conversed with him on a forum and it did NOT have a Big cam, did NOT have big compression, did NOT have a big manifold and the heads were port matched with a bowl blend that over many years morphed into fully ported and it was worth ZERO on the time slip from the port match and bowl blend.

No more quoting the little guy from me. I finally blocked him too. His “truth and facts” come from parts unknown to anyone but him. Kinda like all his self proclaimed success.

Funny. He’s been a member here for about 18 years according to his profile. Not sure if he fell off the wagon, the old lady left, or he hit his head, but groundstrap has been on one for about the last 6 months. Don’t know why a self professed bracket racer with no interest in class racing has any interest in posting here, but I guess when he’s out of options, we get to deal with it.

That seems like the pot calling the kettle black to me!

Until you have raced a competitive Class car, your comments hold little water. I am not really interested in hearing about what your "friends" told you about it. I want to read about your accomplishment in this field.

Bottom line, show me a qualifying sheet with you on it, a class trophy that you won, a top ten finish in your Division, etc.....
