So Adger are you saying instead of fixing the AHFS you would rather see about ONE THOUSAND STOCKER'S SCRAP THEIR MOTORS and go back to the old cam rules of the 70's. I think you would be in the MINORITY on that one. But if that's the cam anyone wants to use go for it. There is nothing stopping anyone from using the old style cam shafts. They are still legal to run in Stock. My lift would stay the same. My cars also ran fast under those rules. I never asked for any of the enhancements we have been given. But I do believe in the old saying that I'm not going to bring a knife to a gun fight. Especially in the classes I hang out in. I go to Indy as often as I can. Been apart several times with different cars and combo's. Including under old rules of lift, duration overlap and spring pressure. Not once been bounced. BP

No rules changes, no going back...
Just saying if you want to save the "Average" put an "Average" cam in it.
OF Course Billy Nees would say just put shorter ratio rocker on.
That is the "easy way" and it would be real easy to go back to "Bad A^^ mode....

I just hope they don't hit a certain soft combo before I get it built! LOL!

Adger, I get you really didn't mean it but why even say it. It just adds to the list of stupid things that are said to correct the problems with the AHFS. Then you follow it up by another stupid Idea. Put a smaller cam in it to slow it down. It may work for those combo's that have almost no one running in their class. But the popular classes get heads up races all the time. The last thing I'm going to want to try to get done is a cam or rocker arm changes before a heads-up race. At Columbus Sports Nationals in 2022 I had back-to-back heads up races in the 3rd and 4th round. With two cars that are good and not far behind me. I would have never made it to the line if I needed to do big changes like that.
Not that I really care if they drop the indexes by one or two tenths. But here is another thing that some say that makes no sense to me. If they drop the indexes by one or two tenths that will just put the faster cars ahead of me by more. How's that? We all get our indexs hit and the faster cars will still be only x amount of tenths faster the same they were before. Even Billy admitted after seeing the class averages at the end of last year said the indexes were soft and should be hit. I still don't think they need to hit them to fix some of the problems BP

I know some combos that are not going to whacked with a hammer. And some that will most likely get some HP taken off.

Also there are some that I see that has me saying, you deserved it. Period.

If it's so easy, everyone would be doing it.
You should try it sometime. ;-)
And I will add that I have not put skinnies on my FWD junk either...Yet!

Yeah? NO kidding. But I have one of each of those cars. One is liked more than the other. I'm doing what I can with both. One's a stick, one's an auto, one's RWD, the other is FWD, one has a computer OE, the other has a carburetor. One runs quite a ways under (legal), the other runs .45 over. But only 1 has skinnies. Either one take effort, a little savvy and money.

Yeah we NEED more of these.

Is there a place to go and see what your class average was for the year?
