Moroso still made a bunch of money, NHRA is just raping the racers with the pay out that they have in place.
NHRA bracket finals in SGMP about 3 years ago, not sure of the entry because the track paid for it, but they only paid $100 to the semi for sportsman. That is why there weren't as many cars there last year and they had buy backs.

You cannot compare payouts between a 350-car single class with buybacks and single promoter (ie., track vs track & sanctioning body) and a Divisional race. (And quite frankly, paying 16 cars on a 350 car race with buybacks isn't a great deal either)

I'm co-promoter of two big money bracket races, and have in the past worked for tracks and a sanctioning body, so I try to see both sides of the fence. I've run the numbers on a Class Nat'ls or All-Sportsman type event with what I as a racer thought would be "fair" entry fees and payouts, and you may be surprised how many cars are required to make a go of it.

I'm not defending the sanctioning bodies. I *am* asking that we deal in fact before making any determininations. I say again: How much does the track rental and other expenses cost, and how much net profit "should" the track and sanctioning body each make?

Yes! I was too young to race at the first one, but we were there all the way from Texas, and I would love to go to another.
