LODRS (lack of) Payouts
A friend just lost in the semi's at Cordova... $150.00 !
Doesn't even cover the $160.00 entry. I know you don't do this for the money...but come on... The All Star in New England pays more than that. Forget about NHRA Sportsman ever being an entry level deal again as long as this points meet scam is perpetrated. Put a fork in it , It's done.. Eat up ,boys |

Re: LODRS (lack of) Payouts
Just for giggles and grins I thought I would look up the payout at LODRS events in the different classes. I cannot find the payout posted on NHRA.com or in National Dragster. I can find how much it costs to enter the LODRS events but not how much it pays. Where does NHRA have the LODRS event payout posted?

Re: LODRS (lack of) Payouts
Really, that is what inspired this thread .My friend asked me to look up what he was supposed to get, thinking they made a mistake.
I'll be damned if I could find that info ..They keep it a big secret because it's such an embarrassment. I found that Div 1 and 7 charges an extra $10 entry, but the round money is padded up more. I don't get The Ragster, but I've been told the Nat'l payout is hard to find too. It used to be at the bottom of all the event ads..I guess they're ashamed of that too. |
Re: LODRS (lack of) Payouts
Lets face it we are all red headed step children when it come to the NHRA. We can all make a lot more money going bracket racing

Re: LODRS (lack of) Payouts
All the payouts are pretty poor at the Divisional lever, for both NHRA and IHRA. 2002 is when I started racing in Stock on a more than one or two race basis. In 2002, an NHRA race was 125 to enter, and 4th round paid 175. This year, 170 for entry and 4th round pays 150. A net loss of $70 compared to then (pay 45 more to enter to get 25 bucks less). IHRA that year was 100 entry, 4th round paid 160. This year, 135 entry and 120 for 4th round (a 75 dollar loss). You have to go to the 5th or even sixth round of a race just to break even on your entry. In NHRA, the Divisionals are necesary because of grade points, ofr thos who want to race National Events.
These payouts...kind of makes the S/SS combo's around the country look better, eh? |

Re: LODRS (lack of) Payouts
Can somebody do a comparison vs a national event? I've also looked for payouts and couldn't find anything. If the national events are better then just go to a couple points meets to get your grade points and then don't go back to them. National events count as grade points also right?

Re: LODRS (lack of) Payouts
Here in Div.1, the entry fee is $170 for Stock Elim.
Most of the races we get 80-100 plus cars. If we get 100 x $170.= $17,000. They are only paying out $3300-4000 tops. That's a nice profit for someone(s). What i would suggest for us racers to do is try & get everybody to chip in another 10 or 20 dollars to boost up our own payout. If you take a vote to see if you want ALL the money collected to just go to the winner, or give some to the R.U. too. Example: If you collect, let's say $2000. An Extra $1400 to Win & $600 for R.U. Now you got a better payout day. Just my 3 cents, (inflation.) Pistol Pete 1374 I/SA |
Re: LODRS (lack of) Payouts
The national event payouts are always posted in the national dragster. Typically it pays 300 third round, 400 forth round, 500 fifth round, 650 sixth, 1200 runner up and 1800 to win plus 300 for any contingency stickers that pay. Stock and super street the payout is slightly less.
