Mark, Alicia You guys completely overlooked the point of my post. While yes, I do believe selling yourself and having a pornography site as you main sources of income is, at the very least, unbecoming, that's not the point I was trying to make. I only mentioned the porn because I found it interesting and trashy. The point I was trying to make, which is the second to last paragraph before the "FYI" is that I'm sick of seeing all the talent that exists in class racing overlooked in favor of a pretty face. I race against the best racers in the country week in and week out, folks that deserve to have the spotlight, that are talented and have dedicated there lives to the craft. People that have not created a fake internet following by paying meta to boost their social media posts. That's why I added her draginsights data for reference. At the end of the day, everybodies got to make a living, do what you have to do, but don't sponsor posts that show up in my FB feed and pretend your some great racer because you have a lot of sponsorships. You aren't, and I have the receipts.

Ya know Dawson, about a million years ago when Jeff Gordon was just coming up he had an interview (you could probably find it) in which he said something to the effect of "I'm not the best driver out there, the best drivers never get found. I was just lucky."

Marketing Partners in all of Motorsports today, care about social media presence first and foremost and anything else a distant second.
I say good for her, use whatever advantage you have to get sponsors. Last edited by 1320racer; 12-17-2024 at 12:52 PM. |

Sponsors do not necessarily revolve around winning race. It's all about exposure for the sponsor. Kenny Bernstein once said about his Budweiser King FC, I may or may not win the race but the fans and sponsors will definitely will remember that we were here. It all about presence. jmho

She’s also not the first class racer to bring sex and pornography as a sponsor.

During the time I was active, I looked at hundreds - maybe thousands - of computer graphs. I could instantly see who was never going to be a winner and who had skills above all. One amazing graph I saw back in the 4 speed days was a driver who was over/under the shift points for all 3 changes by less than 20 rpm. Yes, that's adding them all together. I can think of at least 3 drivers who were at the very top in skill but things never fell into place for them to truly fund their program. And a larger number than that with stout sponsorship deals that made me wonder how that happened. Going back years, it's been that way even though you're noticing it now. I'm not going to spend the time to give a lot of thought to it, but offhand I'm having a problem thinking of many drivers/teams who made it to the big time simply by being really good at racing. Sad but true. |

Paul Cambria comes immediately to mind. Had Hustler Magazine in pink on the quarter of his wife's black COPO. Didn't he represent Flynt at one point?
