No Mark, just make one run at 1.50 under, then dial back to .75 under for the rest of time trials and eliminations.

You only get two TT's at a 3 day Nat.
We'll make two @ .90 under ..and watch you ,buddy.
(At least that's the plan for next time.)

Mark, I remember one year at the Seattle Nats we didn't get any runs. Random pairing first round, picked a dial, and ran right on it. Today's weather stations are pretty good. I understand what you're saying, but some will have little problems achieving the aforementioned.

That might be true to a very small degree - but nowhere near to what is going on since AHFS.

My thinking was in a performance based category wouldn't it be great to go to races....ALL RACES ..not just Opens .. And be able to run your car all out ... Maybe even go for the #1 spot if you can ....be a lot of fun !!!!! Also fun to watch !!!.. Let's face it .. in all the years the AHFS has been in effect we are no closer to evening up the combos / cars then when it was originally implemented .... I ran my 305 for 12 years and never got it hit for HP because I manipulated the car to avoid the AHFS like most of us do ... I think it's time for change .. Let's stop racing with one hand tied behind our backs after spending big money to build these cars

What you say ???????????
I always thought staggered lights during qualifying would def be more interesting to watch and better practice. Maybe even pairing up the quickest 8 qualifiers on a little ladder for the last session or something.

As for qualifying with no AHFS, I say keep it in place but get rid of the automatic 1.20 hit during qualifying, I think it would most likely result in every track having mineshaft conditions, like Indy in September.

Kind of off topic but I think anytime a racer runs quicker than their class record, whether in qualifying or eliminations, that motor should be torn down if time permits, or immediately sealed up with that paint they use and allowed to finish the race. The racer should be given a certain time frame to go through the tear down process and, once cleared, be awarded that record. Some points/money/etc. for setting the record would be nice also.

I like this idea.

How about some CASH FOR THE #1 qualifier in S/SS and drop the AHFS for your qualifying lap ??
