I would have to say the Flash problems are not NHRA only I was in the semi finals in a Nitro Jam a couple of years ago at night and had the IHRA photographer blinde with a flash. I was the faster car and the picture was taken when the slower car left, the photographer was on my side at about the 60 foot mark. Was I happy? Not in the least, in a sport that requires vision sensitive reactions these distractions should not be tolerated.

This is why I think there should be no flash photography until both cars have left the starting line.

Well, it's pretty hard to concentrate when you can't see anything. Sure, it probably isn't that big of a deal at tracks like Vegas where the track is well lit, in fact it's almost like daytime there, but at other tracks where the lighting is poor it's a very big deal.

And it doesn't stop you from getting a final round photo. Just take the photo AFTER both cars have left the starting line.
