BlueOval Ralph: I have also been INVOLVED in many tests with the CTS-V, Camaro, and G8. The factory 87mm throttle body (tested at 1,100 cfm) is big enough to handle over 700 horsepower at the rear wheels. Some simple mathematics will prove that the area of a single 87mm throttle body and 2 63.5mm throttle bodies (CJ) are very similar in overall area and thus very similar in maximum CFM allowable and we have pushed the 87mm way past 700 horsepower at the rear wheels.
Also, the blower on the CTS-V will, in fact, run out of efficiency, but again, Lingenfelter, Hennessey, and others have pushed these blowers to the max and 15+ pounds will make 600-650 horsepower at the tires. Using the accepted conversion for IRS suspension vehicles, and the drag of a 6L80E automatic transmission, 650 horsepower at the tires is 808 horsepower at the flywheel. The CTS-V supercharger is equivalent to that of a 1900 Eaton. 800 horsepower is about the maximum but it is possible. * at factory boost levels, 800 is not attainable. |

The whole G deal won't work!!!!!
1. No one at GM Cares about drag racing. Only NASCAR & ALMS 2 GM doesn't have people to work wth the assembly plant in Canada to get light weight Body in white done! 3. GM an not afford to interfear with production to build race cars. 4. Ford has a advantage right now as Mustan sales are slow and the Plant in Flat Rock ony 20 miles from Dearborn. 5. Ford has been doing it since 95 with the bodies in white. 6. The supercharger and Throtlr body from LS9 is not big engough (not enought air flow) to support the + HP astocker would need to make let alone a Super Stocker. |

Ralph, what fun is it going to be if the CJ's are running against themselves all the time? Ford needs Chrysler and GM if it's going to be fun like in the "old days", no?? Best wishes.
