Cool deal. Lol I just wasn't reading it clear. You are 100% correct. The v10 were in the book with a glide. What makes that really funny is this year in Indy we had to run the glide and we did pretty darn well with it.


Hmm, not sure if that suggestion was to improve the old car...

It just seems to me that the biggest gripe is
that the "FS" cars face no penalty for going
more than - 1.00 under.. I love the new cars,
they are the future and here to stay. The simplest short term
solution to me seems to me at races where FS cars
run let 'em fly...., just do not punish "traditional" cars
with "AHFS"...., let 'em fly as well...? Same rules
for all.... no discriminating......
Hope stock/super stock does not look like comp.
with 1,000 footers.....

We have tried to figure out what the 3spd is worth - it seems for sure you will spin eventually.

The V10 torque monster is very fast without the 3spd - we recon - only 3 hundredths, if it hooks up.

Lots of on track - converter and 1st gear ratio research is required - for very little benefit.

Your dad and I talk about this very important science a lot - LOL

I guess some people need to read their post before they submit it. Its kind of funny when you read a post but yet you have no clue what they race or have ever seen them at the track.


We do have a couple of 3 speeds that already fit and we have tested. Its up to NHRA to legalize it.

On not being able to make a powerglide run for us...well we did go 9.26 already with it. Its not that we cant get it to run for us, we just want what everyone else gets....a 3 speed.

I dont believe a mustang has been sold from Ford with a 3 speed yet. I know they are in the development stages of it but as far as I know none have been sold with one yet. So that is why we are asking for one.

Eric Meryfield, I copy and pasted this post from a older post. This is where Teutons were asking for the 3-speed to be legalized. This is not to be a slam on the Teutons, I new that the new drag paks guys got it legalized. After a search on the forum I found this in a very long post on this subject

Andy your correct, I no in a low hp stocker the 3speed is worth a bunch .15-.20, but in a high hp car it takes a lot of testing to find small gains. I think you could get the first gear ratio about right the first time, but it would take some playing around with the converter to get it were it would need to be.
