Adger, you don't seem to comprehend English very well. Billys a big boy I don't need to defend him he's quite capable of speaking for himself. Maybe you should just move on unless you have a more sound argument. Whoever wrote the supposed memo giving Chryslers blessing for the parts probably was in grade school when any of these parts were in the PARTS ROOMS and available. Chevy had the cross ram manifold for the Z-28 in 1969. If you ordered it the part came with the car, in the trunk. The dealer installed it.

I can't speak of all the other stuff that was sneaked past tech over the years but they're just as bogus as what the topic is here.

So in summation the submission of these parts are pure bull**** just as the factory horse power factors for the new Ford/Mopar/Chevy ringers, who have done more to negate all the work and money put in by many racers in NHRA S/SS.
As far as AMC kicking butt the new cars rule the majority of classes from G up.The only place AMC has a chance is the lower classes. Jim and I proved that you can build a competitive combo without bogus parts and HP factors.And Billys talent with low buck combos is beyond reproach.
BTW do you have a car on the track now.Inquisitive minds want to know.

I have been in the drag racing sport, one way or another for the last 48 years.

Was raised by my uncle's in the sport in the era of real muscle cars and even tinkered with AMC's in the late 1960's thru 1970's when one of my uncles purchased a 1969 Orange AMX. As a matter of fact, I believe I still have one of the original print American Spirit books from AMC including the patch.

In the early days, the OEM issued TSB's and service letters for replacement parts when the original parts did not perform as intended. This applied to all makes and models of cars. Therefore, not surprised because it has been common practice even today.

These bulletins were also included in sections of the old Motors and Chilton repair manuals that garages and service shops used in the early days. These were not the ones the public will buy at the local book store, these were the big hard cover, bible size manuals.

I applaud that you and Billy enjoy running in the lower classes with minimum investment, nevertheless, there are a lot of us that enjoy the faster classes.

As regards to racing, yes, I have owned several cars, raced in the old Modified Production class, also Super Stock and Stock. Currently do not race, but help an assist several friends until the new Comp Eliminator bullet is finished.

Thanks for the civil reply.What I question is the fact that I believe these replacement parts were used not in drag racing applications but were meant for use in the road race,trans am applications.
Oh Jeez don't tell me you don't race, I keep being told to shut up because I don't race anymore. Maybe we should both check in to the nearest assisted living facility.
