150 -154 is fine with us, bottom line, Dad keeps on saying the first SOB that crashes into him going 170mph plus and trying to park in the lights better be knocked out cause he said if he can get out of his car, he will hurt you more, lol

I think there should NOT be any MPH rules. I run 150 in S/ST in div. 4, a couple of years ago when we starting going this fast people did CRY about it, but they have got used to it. If you dont like what US FAST cars are going, build a bigger motor or shut up and deal with. Just my 2 cents

I agree with you Travis, in 97 when my backhalf was going 10.90@142, everyone bitched, now at 10.90@150 I am not alone anymore. Even more important I wonder how bad the car counts are gonna be affected by the economy?

No offense, but its takes a WHOLE lot less to go 150 in SST than it takes to go 170 in Gas...any decent 522 or 540 will get you there at 2800-2900 lbs... But take that motor going low 150's in Gas and its 20 k more to go 170... No whining here and thats not how this topic started...I dont believe in speed limits... I'm not going to spend the money, and like I and others mentioned, the big mph cars dont generally kick the crap outta the lower mph cars, you just have to know how to RACE !!!!! Just my .02 also...

I would think that it takes a LOT of motor in s/st trim to go 150mph. You are talking over 2800lb car on the stop for a bit. I don't think your run of the mill 522 or 540 is going to do that. If my thinking is right that would be at least a 8.20 to 8.40 car wide open.
JJ you out there? What ya think. BB |
