Whatever.Horsepower doesn't produce those nice wheelstands that you show in your pic. That my friend is a product of torque.

Horsepower is the true potential of a race engine. It tells you the abillity to enhance the torque using time and gear multiplication. Yes it all starts with torque, but it doesn't end there.

The on-board computer tells the story. No matter what the two step is set at, the converter instantly flashed to 6200RPM before the car moves. The computer allows me to overlay RPM, G-Force as measured by the accelerometer. It also gives me an instantaneous "leave RPM" on the screen. It is never below 6000 on the leave, or at any point in time down the track. By decreasing the leave RPM with the 2 step we are taking inertia out, not RPM, HP or torque.
With that being said, the converter comes back to about 6000 after flash, I shift first gear about 6200, and second gear at 7000RPM. Stacy's car you can add about 600RPM to mine.

Lynn, Do I understand you think you are working with HP number not torque using a convertor 500 above torque peak? What was your HP peak? Thanks
