Hope to be leaving for Indy soon. Will give you update when we hit the road. If anybody talks to anyone there, call me and I will update. Or just post it here.
Thanks, Patsy 270-994-4005 |

Well, we are still at home. Had to go buy 4 new batteries for the motorhome. At least it quit in the driveway instead of on the road somewhere. Still had the original batteries in it and 5 years old. I was going to give you the saga of the Cuda after we got on the road, but looks like that is still going to be a while yet. We have owned the 71 Cuda since 1980. Originally was a 383 and raced it like that for a while. It was white then with blue. Then Larry put a 440 six pack in it and it was yellow and black. The last time it ran was at Rockingham in 2002. Was going to fix it up a lot nicer over the winter. Well that was 6 years ago. Work kept getting in the way of restoring. So he bought Jim Whiteside's 71 Charger (the Private Lee) so we could race in the meantime. Then he decided he would get back on the Cuda and not race until it was finished. So that is where we are now. Larry has touched every square inch of this car to finally get it finished. And he has been meticulous at every detail. So now it is Panther Pink and pretty. But what an ordeal to do one over from scratch. Wiring, interior (lots of new parts that don't fit and you have to modify). So he is now working on the springs and weight so hopefully it will go straight down the track for the 1st time tomorrow at Indy. So I am sure once we finally get to Indy we will be back in the back 40, but come on by and look at our pink car and have a drink with us. Boy are we ready for that drink!!

![]() Patsy, thank you for what you do, giving us reports before/during/after the races you and Larry attend. Living on the wrong (west) coast makes it impossible to attend all the races I would like to be at.

Larry & Patsy, I don't know you two, but I'm wishing you both fun and success out there this week(end)! If you think of it (and get a chance to), would you say hi to Marion Stephenson (P/SA from Div 3) for me? I'm surprised that there are nine vacancies this year (171 out of 180 allotted), and Lisa/Nichole Stephenson's Delta 88 (DF/S), isn't in the field?
I wish I could afford to be out there too, but since I have one of the lowest budgets of us Stock racers, I'm doing good to have gone to one nat. & three div. races so far this year! So I'll be rooting for you guys, and wishing for the day that ESPN will give more tv coverage to us "REAL SPORTSMAN RACERS"!!!

Well, they are within an hour of going down the track and we are still at the house. Still planning on getting there. Just new car blues. Jerry Bennett and George Widuch are there, so I will try to talk with them and find out what is going on there. Looks like we will be doing well to be there to make 1 run for class tomorrow. And then we can do what Indy is all about. See all our friends, get caught up, and enjoy some adult beverages.
More after I talk with Jerry or George. Patsy |

Well I just talked to Jerry Bennett and they have made their 1st run. He went .95 under so he thinks he has at least made the "show". He said the air wasn't great. Lots of humidity, but 69 degrees. Lots of people there. Said lots went really fast. Hopefully DRC will be posting the results soon.
More later. Patsy |
