Someone is running a 2002 Ford Escort in GT/A at the IHRA points race in Pa. The car has run an 9.20 which is real impressive. Does anyone know anything about the combo this car is running?

Are they running the 285/324 combo or one of the open chamber combos? We just put the 275/313 open chamber combo in my 72 Mustang, haven't shook it down yet though.

Nice car. Cool to see something different for a change.
If it's a 2002 then he's gonna have to stick to IHRA since there are no entries for 2002 Fords in the classification guide. Colin Wigle had the same situation when he built a 2005 Mustang for SS/GT. No data in NHRA, but IHRA let him run it. After much begging and pleading, along with some help from the Velde Ford guys, the car finally made it into the guide. Anyone want to bet on how soon you will see a 2009 (2010?) Camaro in stock or SS after it is released.. or maybe even before it's released...????

Smitty, Ford pays class win money to any year car, as does Mopar, I believe.
Chevrolet and Pontiac do not. If you win class with a Pontiac motor in a Pontiac car, you don't get a dime. Let's give thanks where it's due.
