Can you ID these engines?

18 for 18....and I'm 36. I think you more 'seasoned' guys might be surprised at the number of guys my age and younger that are building rods with early Olds, nailheads, etc for power. I have to say, though, the only way I knew about the Poly was from spending lots of time as a teenager reading a 1960 Motor's repair manual!! Great cutaway drawings of engines in that book - still have it.

I got 17 out of 18. Didn't look at the 455 close enough.

Not to bad for being 26 years old though. Only one I didn't know was the Chrysler polyspherical engine but I knew it wasn't a hemi or wedge. I had heard of the polyspherical head but had no idea what it looked like....but I do now!

I missed the poly chrysler i don't think I ever saw one. Must not have been any around drag strips down here. Saw plenty of Desoto & Dodge red ram hemis though.

Jeff that 322 Buick was a 56-59 engine only in the big Chev trucks!!!! You must have had one of the earliest built 60 Chevy trucks --
Probably using up left over stuff to get to the regular production line parts-----60 on used either a 348 or a 292 ---NO Buick----GM was famous for doing stuff like that---Mopar probably did that too Right??? Comp 387
