Why is it there are NO throttle plate holes shown in the Quick Fuel 780 carb photos accepted for Stock or S/S on any of the Aftermarket sights?

Evidently none of the tech guys know how engines work, this should have been allowed, no advantage whatsoever.

Because they haven't been available in years - the pics are of the SS780, which is NOT the SSR780.

I talked to the man face to face yesterday that developed and took it to NHRA for approval. He verified that no SSR780 Quick Fuel carbs ever left QFT with holes drilled in the secondary throttle plates. QFT was sold back to Holley several years ago, im not sure anybody can verify what happened to them after that.

Now just because someone made an illegal modification to their carb and got caught, some armchair computer jockeys want NHRA to change a rule that has been there for years. |

We all want more tech. We got it. Thank you NHRA for putting forth an effort. It would suck to be DQ?d but that?s the name of the game and it used to happen more frequently. I?m all for it because with increased scrutiny maybe people will be less willing to push the envelope. I speed fairly often and most of the time I get away with it. That doesn?t mean I get to sue the officer that decides to give me a ticket.

Unrelated to the B/S question. The booster change from the truck booster in the 428 735cfm to the down booster screw all of us that had to run the 428 FE heads up in class. Thanks NHRA

Seems pretty clear to me. NHRA accepted the QF carbs but they don't want you idling off the secondary side, just like the factory Holleys were set up. Add to the fact that the rule book says ..okay to drill the primary side only...there you go .
It is a shame that it wasn't noticed 5 years ago... Everybody said they wanted more tech. Now you've got it . As far as the disposition / punishment goes...Not up to me .You guys can argue that out ;-) https://www.jegs.com/i/Quick-Fuel/79...W05YXkaAn48EAL ![]() vvvv
