Now if an official didn't see it, then it's up to someone to bring it to their attention.

Under NHRA rules, Stock Eliminator cars are prohibited from being towed to the staging lanes. Once competition has begun, vehicles must be driven under their own power at all times.

The reasoning behind these rules, especially in classes like Stock Eliminator, is to prevent racers from using a tow vehicle to gain an unfair performance advantage. This includes keeping the engine's temperature at an optimal level, which is a key part of the human talent and race strategy.

Never said it was my decision he asked a question and I gave my answer.

If a tech guy caught me doing that I would get sent back to my trailer. Well when there was tech I should say. But he did say he got caught so if indeed he got caught you would think he would get a bye.

Fact remains there are certain teams with premium pit spots that happen to have a lot of buddies willing to push their cars into the lanes. Given that if they pass fuel check and go across the scales then let the better car/driver win the race.

He was not pushed he was towed up with a truck. Hid behind the tech building, peeked around to make sure nobody was looking, unhooked his car and drove it around the corner

It was brought up to the NHRA guys at head of staging, they could?ve seen him unhook if they wanted.. I was told later it went over the radio So they knew it happened and there action was to have a talk with the guy. Being new to stock I didn’t wanna push for a DQ, I would’ve liked NHRA to enforce their own rules.

It was pointed out to NHRA at the head of staging, if they walked around the corner they would?ve seen him unhooking but decided to turn a blind eye. I was told they would have a talk with him.. this was a seasoned racer who 100% new he was in the wrong and I was told a few racers told him leaving his pit it was not right.

Back in the day we would push our car up the hill at Maple Grove to get the "free" TT.
Would have I liked to tow that 3,570 beast to the top of lanes? For sure.
