Just got off the phone with one of Don’s close friends and was told that he initially had 2 stents and a few days later had heart bypass surgery. The doctor was pleased with the surgery but reminded the family that this is not a sprint, it is a marathon. Don is slowly on the mend and I ask that everyone please keep Don and Sharon and the family in your prayers.

Another update from Facebook:
Well, today was a better day?last night dad started to respond to some commands and opened his eyes a little. After a couple episodes yesterday that looked like seizure activity and a resulting EEG, Neurology came by today and said that they did not see ANY seizure activity. His surgeon is also ?pleased? (whew! A positive word) with how his liver numbers are improving and his kidneys were stabilizing. We had some times of him opening his eyes and trying to look at us. He is working on waking up?it?s just taking some time. Once they get him more awake and able to sit up a little, they will get the breathing tube out. They keep reminding us that this is a marathon, not a sprint and Dr. Superman (his name is a long name that we can?t remember)reminds us that it is in God?s hand which is the best hands they could be in. |
