Default Kelson & Kelson ACSSA 2025 Race 1 Report

KELSON & KELSON STOCK/SUPERSTOCK SERIES 2025 - RACE 1 REPORT
Greenfield Dragway, July 5, 2025

Greg's Legacy Race Co-Sponsors: Strictly Hydraulics & Dairy Queen

The first race of the ACSSA 2025 season took a bit longer to happen after our initial June race weekend in Miramichi got postponed by rain, but the weather in Greenfield did not disappoint. The Greg's Legacy Race Weekend double header is co-sponsored by Strictly Hydraulics and Dairy Queen, and we had 19 entries make up the field. Under sunny skies with temperatures in the 80s, a barometer of 29.5 and water grains in the 55-60 range the cars weren?t at their fastest, but #1 Qualifier Scott Underhill still cranked out a -1.24 under blast.
In addition to our formal sponsors, we were delighted when Janet Nickerson and Thomas Jessome both presented us with cheques to boost our final payouts. Janet is of course the matriarch of Nickerson Family racing, and supplemented the payouts of both Races 1 and 2. Thomas is a local Stock/Super Stock fan whose surprise donation was used to further boost the Race 1 payouts. Thanks so much to you both!!!
In something that felt like deja-vu Daniel Nickerson relived last year?s thrash when he along with Sam Elsworth, Mike Ingram and Bill Sheppard swapped out a bad transmission again this year and was ready for Q1. Dan didn?t even start working on the swap until late Friday evening and worked late into the night, after weighing cars for the association for two hours. Impressive effort!
David Garland showed up to his first race as ACSSA President and showed that he was good at multi-tasking as he successfully juggled his duties as President with a charge through the field that ended in our first 2025 Winner?s Circle. David also took home the Bounty Hunter bonus when he defeated 2024 ACSSA Champ Mike Ingram in Round 3. Well done! Jeremy Keans got runner-up honours, while Ryan Thibeault grabbed both the Best Reaction Time and Best Package payouts. Here is a summary of the various winners:
