Alright, having been through several 409 powered cars, the logical questions come to mind: 1. What did you do about the rear suspension with the single upper trailing arm that liked to tear loose from the frame at the front?
2. What rear axle assembly is in the car? A 12 bolt comes to mind here. 3. What gear ratio? 4.How about the drive shaft? 5. What is the total weight of this car with driver? 6.How much fun is it to drive? Looks like a real hoot. 7. What is the quickest and fastest time to date? Best wishes on this project. Looks like a lot of fun. |

I've seen that car before.Looks like he got some hp off..so 170 x 20 = 3400 + 170 =3570.
If Denny Ford can get his 62 409 down the track ,this one should be fairly safe Seems to be having fun. Looks like it runs under the index. That's all you need in U/Stock ;-) I can think of better cars for that class LOL Former U/Stock record holder ;-)

How about this combo in a 66 nova. R/S 283/195/164 3122# 13.95 index
Have a nice 66 nova x stocker. 12 bolt slapper bars calvert shocks drum brakes no roll bar Have 283 parts 2 barrel manifolds couple nova blocks complete 2 barrel nova core motor clutch trans. etc. Living in Denver if we ever have a track here again probrably not good altitude deal! I dont know why these slower class combos interest me. |
