In the past I have used R&L Carriers for engines and transmissions with good luck. I did dock to dock. Shipper delivered th shipment to the dock and I picked up the shipment at their terminal closest to my house. It was a little less expensive that way. Any of the LTL freight companies can provide the service.

We recently used ABF to ship a transmission and they were great. Dropped off and picked up at the terminals. Price was reasonable and got here quickly.

Any LTL freight company can do this, Old Dominion, R&L, ABF, UPS Freight can all do it. See who is near you and near where it's going if you want to do terminal drop off and pick up, if not they will do door to door for more money, Packing it good is all on you and the better job you do the better your chances of no damage. I don't know if they still do it but Fastenal used to offer shipping from store to store, I had front end parts shipped through them years back.
