Damn, I was there for 10 days and never knew any of this was going on, including the check for blinders. I've got to start getting out of the motor home more.

If it is a true part of the body style claimed, like an OEM chin spoiler, there's not much that can be done. But, a fabricated "stripe taker" should no-way be permitted.

After doing some of the .90 wars for a few years you learn to check the front end of cars you?re not familiar with so for me this is just part of racing. I have a much bigger issue with arbitrary rules put in place by a vocal minority from the NHRA “chosen”, such as no blinders and air shifters in Stock. Blatant favoritism is just one of my “buttons”, and it downplays the role of the SRAC.

Could get a record run with one. Qualifying on ladder can be manipulated by removing or installing.

Seen plenty of them out there over the years. However even in a Comp car that is allowed to extend beyond the front of the car by 7?(?) I believe, the performance advantage was minimal, it was more about triggering the finish line weather accelerating or decelerating at the same point. Not that there wasn?t some ET advantage but it was minimal

Rule book, stock cars section 7 body, no customization or alterations, customization limited to paint only. Seems clear to me!

Personally, I’m more concerned about mystery buttons in the interior and cars that stutter and break up in high gear while they miraculously run dead on the dial.

Just make the finish line beam the same height as the starting line beam and problem solved.

Great point.......could it also be safer as it would eliminate the need/reward for hard braking at finish to take the stripe.......thought provoking.....
