With dual 750 carbs and vacuum secondaries, my car is not easy to hold a steady rpm while staging. The 2 step lets me leave consistently at the desired rpm. You may not need one, but other combinations do.

Could the same logic be applied to the air shifter? The air shifter may allow some combinations to be more consistent, like the older combos to be more consistent with the newer combinations.
