I'm going in an unknown direction. My favorite NHRA Category is Stock Eliminator. Thanks to GTX John I got the opportunity to race a Stocker!

Where am I going from here is unknown but have somewhat of a plan. More to this later, maybe.

I pulled the above quote from another thread where I got my feet wet in a Stock/Super Stock Combo race. I'm going to address some of the things mentioned.

I really couldn't believe I was driving a Stock Eliminator Car for the first time. I really don't know how to put it in words, but I felt about 30 years younger. I don't know why but it was almost too good to be true.

My primary race car is an 8 sec. small tire bracket Camaro. There was a big difference between the 2 cars & I did have a bunch to learn very quickly. I actually thought the Stocker was going to be a piece of cake to race. While I adapted pretty quickly it wasn't as easy as I thought it would be.

As for qualifying in the top ten on my first pass. That's a testament to John's car & not me. I'm curious on how much under the index that car will run, I went - 0.911 under.

Anyway, my next unknown is a Apr. double Divisional in Vegas. It has been some time since I raced Divisionals & Nationals. I don't like all the down time. I like to get my racing done on the same day.

Where am I going, heck I don't know but I'm having a bunch of fun after 35+ years of drag racing!

You did a great job 1600, and I can attest that it makes you feel younger no matter how fast the car is...The competition is tight and everyone is leaving by foot power not button power.

That alone makes you feel younger, or really much older on the bad days. It is frustratingly good though, even on the bad days.

P.S. mine is up and running on the H.T. X (more work to do yet), picking it up early in AM Tomorrow, but fire in the holes.

9 10ths. Under in a detuned Stocker, that thing is a Missle. Come play some more.

It's not just a drag race. It's a social event.

I'm not sure where you are located, but with a Division 1 permanent number and wanting a "1 day and done" race, I'm going to recommend ASRA for New England and eastern NY, ECSSA for southern NY and NJ, and there is another organization (I can't remember the name) for Ontario and western NY.

Leaving by foot was something I haven't done since the early 90's. I did pretty good doing it back then. I'm much more comfortable leaving off a button.

Good to hear the Holley Terminator X is up & running.

I agree!

My style racing doesn't leave a lot of time for socializing, but I do like to after the racing is completed.

Greg,

I'm out West, Div 7.

If I continue in my unknown direction, I'm going to have to learn to deal with the down time & be social.
