Exactly, which is why I asked the clarifying question. If there are that many people with the ability to go 1.0+ under in terrible air, maybe we don't have a mineshaft rule until AHFS has a chance to catch up and get some combos in line.

Sounds good. But, in reality, having the mineshaft rule in place allows less runs to fix your average. Without the mineshaft rule you can fix that 1.00 run on a good weekend. Ask me how I know....

So slow your average at ?slow? races! Mineshaft rules are for extremely fast weather conditions that don?t occur often.

Others would argue this indicates indexes haven't kept pace with performance improvements since the last adjustment (2009?). My guess is most would agree it indicates one of holes in the AHFS system, which is that it is easily manipulated and not likely to be effective or equitable for that reason alone.

We work hard to protect our combinations. The 376 has already triggered one qualifying session in. Now Bragg has a heads-up first round. Foley went faster than we guessed he would too. So, now we have to work on our average or get HP. Until last year, I had no clue that the low HP 396's could go so fast. How about that 350/255!
