It seems this post has been modified to include AHFS and HP Ratings.
If IHRA wants to keep their life simple, which we want them to do, we don't
want to become more aggravation than we're worth, then the AHFS
should look like this this: over 1.25 under-3.5% Hit. Under -.50 under,
of which records must be kept by individual racer and sent in at year
end for verification-3.5 % reduction. No averages to keep track of, just
easy peasy. No Aspirin required on either side.

The benefits of the current NHRA AHFS system is it takes care of any mineshaft weather events simply. And looks at a sample of all the cars across the country.

Main point is welcome IHRA yes we want Class eliminations and let?s simplify it so we can get more heads up runs.

Back in the day, did not IHRA follow NHRA s lead regarding HP factors ?…...not sure we can use AHFS and IHRA in the same sentence. This would be the perfect time for Michael Beard to chime in ….

IHRA has a great opportunity to learn from NHRA and make improvements. There is plenty of room for both. The racer wins when they are competing for business. More heads up races make for what we all want a true performance based class on an evolving equal playing field. Personal index?s would be great but a lot hassle

I like the idea for a Top Stock and Junior Stock to start with. and I agree on License,Membership and car number. Make it easy to switch back and forth.

Yes.. MJ ,IHRA previously used the specs and horsepower ratings from NHRA... some HP factors may have been different.
I haven't heard if pure stock, crate motor and GT stockers will be back?
pure stock had different HP ratings than the same combo in stock.
crate motor was IHRA's ratings, GT most likely same as the combo is in stock

Alan just my considered opinion, means i thought about it.lol
i think you would have a lot more participation if you seperated the
Fi cars from the carbs. like they did originally. Now i know there will be a lot of pushback from the Fi guys, of course But if we dont preserve the classics
they will eventually be pushed out. i have ideas on how to make it fair if you want to talk. And before youse guys start , i know everyone is not going to agree ,but maybe we can express our opinions without rancor. haha

Now I know why we are destined to fail as a group.
Alan asked one question, we have now given him 37 different opinions on how we should tell him how Stock and Super Stock should be run if IHRA takes it on. I almost caught myself giving my opinion on this post but I know better. I'm sure Alan knows these classes well enough he has his own ideas or has enough people that he has worked with to come up with a plan. I can bet you one thing, if this thread turns into 100+ suggestions, it will be the last time he asks a simple question.

What the hell were we supposed to do? All pm each other until we formed perfect unison, then had one answer? The whole point of the thread was to get opinions and ideas.
