If only I had known I was in the presence of GREATNESS!!!!!
As far as the trailer deal.... I get down on my knees and thank the Lord for helping me dodge that bullet!! LMAO!!

I'm a free-speech absolutist, not only because I believe that everyone should have the right to express their thoughts, ideas, etc.--no matter how vile or obnoxious--but, more importantly, I want to know who my enemies are.

Suppressing speech does not change a person's feelings, beliefs, etc, it just pushes them underground, where those feeling, beliefs, etc. fester and become stronger.

I think Ken is making the right move. You can't be a free speech advocate while simultaneously limiting the speech of those with whom you disagree or dislike.

The simple solution is not to respond to them. Arguing with someone who has a long history of aberrant behavior serves no purpose. You are not going to change them. You need only to ignore them and move on.

Best post so far! Gentlemen if Ed post something that you don't like or agree with it's simple, move on! There's no rule here that you must engage, all you have to do is move on.

What is the purpose of this forum? If a forum member asks for help, you help him. When someone posts up a wrong answer, you correct them. In this case an correction turns into a shyt storm. If everyone's answer is to ignore the poster. Then you are saying just let the wrong information stand!

there are no wrong answers in discussions, only differing opinions. To that point, this forum is for discussions where as the Tech forum is for tech questions.

1320racer
This message is hidden because 1320racer is on your ignore list.

I wrote a message a dozen times and deleted it. I left a few years ago because it was all just nhra bashing and it was depressing to have a love for S/SS but all I see are people bitching and fighting. (Joined in 2002)

I've been back for a year or so and even convinced myself to build my first stocker. I want to learn and enjoy S/SS. I ignored him because he's the problem and I "don't need to respond". So I ignore him...but every thread has a "message is hidden" after a couple of posts so I stop and don't even bother because whatever the original post was about is now dead, no use going any farther, it's just arguing over something NOT related to the thread.

If he was arguing about S/SS with a different opinion, I'd respect that, might not agree with a "chev" driver or a "dodge" driver but I have a lot of respect for people who have the knowledge and can back up their hypothesis. Explain why my thoughts on "A" are incorrect, thank you, I didn't know that, I'm learning. But if I ask "A" and the answer turns into what someone said before and how this guy is an idiot but that guy.... I'm done.

Being argumentative and causing shyt just for the sake of it is a bigger turn off than bitching 24/7 about nhra.

I'm a nobody, I understand that, but a lot of nobody's add up.

EDIT: To be clear, if he was the cranky old S/SS bugger who's been there and done that and is against the unlimited duration rule or various hp presents, I'd respect that. I have a lot of respect for guys that have told me the 302 is underrated, maybe they're right with their 15-20 years of S/SS racing I respect their opinion. But, This could be a forum about toasters, he would still be the one who derails toaster questions with bickering and fighting. "What setting should I..." turns into a fight after 3 posts. THAT IS THE ISSUE WITH HIM!

Again...

you don't have to be a class racer, don't have to own a stock/super stock car, don't have to compete at NHRA divisional and national events and don't have an NHRA license to post your opinion and/or advice here but for the record, I am a class racer, I do own a Super Stock car, I do compete at NHRA divisionals and national events and I have an NHRA license yet a number of those replying are NO longer a class racer, NO longer own a stock/super stock car, NO longer compete at NHRA divisionals and national events and NO longer have an NHRA license as well those replying here that have NEVER been a class racer, have NEVER owned a stock/super stock car, have NEVER competed at NHRA divisional and national events and have NEVER had an NHRA license.
