No one burst onto the scene in Stock/Superstock racing like Bob Schroeder. Hailing from the great northeast Bob aligned himself with multi National Superstock champion “The Reverend” Keith Lynch. The team of Schroeder and Lynch won the very first race they entered, the Winternationals in Pomona, California. Unfortunately, it didn’t take long for things to unravel. Campaigning big block stockers and super stockers took their toll on parts. As I strolled through their pit area it was a common sight to view engine carnage and broken transmissions. Instead of racing out of D-1, the team raced in D-3. Bob was full of himself and unscrupulous business deals prevented him from racing in his home division. With Bob, it was difficult to decipher the truth from the fiction. The team had been racing for a few years when they entered the national event in Madison,Illinois…just outside of St. Louis, Missouri. It was a hot day at the track and the team was pitted on asphalt. No one knows what was going on in Bob’s mind that day BUT for some reason he thought it would be a good idea to pull the release on his black water. You can guess the rest….. Bob quickly left the track for the truck stop across the street. NHRA was not amused AND from that day on Bob was forever known as Bob (chitty) Schroeder….A few more years passed and Bob and Keith went their separate ways. The team that won the first race they entered was no more. ..As for Bob, he passed away a few years ago. The last that I heard my good friend Keith Lynch was enjoying the quiet life in Utah. I sure miss him……

Mr. Quinn
lets get a few things straight if you are going to tell stories, tell them right, you are right Bob was diff. Bob's SS car was my old SS/DA car, then the car got around, i found the car back in NC bracket racing, i bought the car and parked it in my shop, Then i sold it to John Armstrong, He redid the car and he ran it as a SS/BA car, he sold it last summer to Dan, John has a A/SA camaro now that he made deal on his Corvette for with Billy Irvin in Canada, i hope this clears a few things up. Happy Holidays Brian |

Thanks Brian for setting me straight. A lot of camaro’s to keep up with …LOL. Somewhere in the mix, John Armstrong raced a Camaro that was formerly owned by Bob …
