They are here, we donate clothes and food, we do our part. My family left Germany for purely economic and religious reasons. I guess based on your interpretation of "invasion", we were invaders and proud of it. Who knows how we would have been treated if our skin was something other than white. |

Eddie,
I don't think that the Pacific Islands gives the same visual image as if you had used D-Day. Stan |

I am a retired Marine (24 years), I understand what you are saying, both islands mentioned were sovereign territory of Imperial Japan. The "invasion" of Iwo Jima cost 7000 plus lives, a fact that was classified until after the war, because the toll was too high to justify the taking of a 2.5 mile strip of land. |

Why are the coming here?
![]() "We were living a peaceful life,” says Angelina, 38, who fled Guatemala with her three children. “Then, when they [gang members] killed my brother, that's when everything was disrupted. Every two blocks sometimes you'd find a body. I decided [to leave] because of that situation and also to give [my children] a better life.” Can you haters for one second image yourself in the same situation? |

And of course you heard it on FOX news!! You being a man of the world and I only lived in Honduras for 18 months, you would know crossing into the Panama Canal Zone and over the canal would be a “no go”. Besides if they did make it to Venezuela, it is ran by a right wing wacko and Colombia is Cartel country. Brazil doesn’t speak Spanish. So go north for the hope of a better life. Being a man of the world you would know this, Rates of crime in Guatemala are very high. An average of 101 murders per week were reported in 2018. The countries with the highest crime and violence rates in Central America are El Salvador and Honduras. They not leaving because of religious beliefs (Pilgrims), or failed potato crops (Irish) or gas chambers (Jews), they are leaving for a better life for themselves and their children.

![]() The law says: undocumented immigrants are not eligible for federal public benefits such as Social Security, Medicaid, Medicare and food stamps. In addition, most immigrants with lawful status are not entitled to these benefits until they have been in the country for five years or longer. |
