So a birdie said someone has successfully negotiated a rule change for the Hemi Challenge! I don’t know if it’s true so I am posting this to see if anyone else has heard about it!
Supposedly, you can tow your car in the parade, and at the completion of a run back to your pits! Don’t shoot the messenger I will call the NHRA tomorrow

Nothing would surprise me, BUT ….you can’t tow a super stocker AND A/H cars are still super stockers….

These cars came out the year after I graduated High School. That tells you how old I am.
Always thought of the Darts and Barracudas as the Ultimate Factory Super/Stocker. If you want to tow them, put them in Comp and destroy the class, just my 2 cents.

What a great way to enhance the fan experience. Gonna sound just like an electric car parading around…gotta love it.

It's about the Pros, but probably applies to the Hemi cars and maybe the entire class if the rumor is true.
I remember well when Kurt Johnson towed his car during the Pro Stock parade lap and suddenly the fan favorite thing became extinct. The "train" of all the cars being driven into staging before a session and the parade of the qualifiers were just something cool to watch. Yeah, I'm old and don't like change all that much. But doing away with traditions for "efficiency" doesn't ever seem to work out. |

Well it won’t be taking a front wheel car and making it a rear wheel super stocker!

I’m not so sure I don’t agree with allowing the SS/AH cars rules that don’t apply to others. They are an elite group. For the most part, they run their own eliminator. I’d rather see them get a few bones thrown their way than say, an ‘85 Monte Carlo with a big cube BBC and hood scoop being allowed to run SS/something modified. Personally, I think the SS/AH guys deserve way more recognition than they get. I’d love to own one, but I’d rather have one like George Baptiste’s.
