Default Hemi splined input shaft wanted

I need a Hemi splined input shaft with a .585" (GM) pilot diameter. I struggle putting in my G Force using the plastic clutch alignment tool. I guess the fortunate thing is that I haven't broken one yet so I would have my own.

I probably jinxed myself.

I got a used input with a damaged bearing area from Jerico years ago. Either they or G-force might be able to sell you one. I also cut the heads off two long bolts to use as a pilot to help align and slide the trans into place on the bell housing. I cut screwdriver slots in the ends to facilitate removing them after the trans is installed.

I got a PM with a lead on one and I may call Jerico if this doesn't work out. I have asked Paul a few times at G-Force, but he hasn't been able to find a used or broken one in his shop.

I gave up looking for an input and just had a machine shop turn down a hunk of bar stock...you don't need the splines. Been using it for 10 years now. Just a thought.

I think that is the route I may go.

If you are having problems with alignment with the plastic just get it close and put someone in the car and release the clutch as you are putting the trans into the splines. That floats the disc and it should self align, esp if you have the trans on slides or dowels.

That is what I generally do when I am having trouble, but my alpaca isn't always available and I have to do it alone.

Rob Youngblood @ Advanced Clutches has machined aluminum clutch alignment tools with splines and interchangeable pilot tips.
