Yes, it’s confusing to most and most really don’t understand how it really works.
Thank you for the clarification. Like others I thought the amount of HP was going to be based off the average of all runs. Not just the fastest run of the year.

Rob, the hp that would be applied in event of an average has always been based on fastest run. Last year, if a combination was reviewed and average was over -.85 then the fastest trigger resulted in the amount of hp applied -1.000–1.099 was 1.25% then -1.100-1.199 was 2.25%. This remains the same. The difference this year is if you have a trigger run of -1.200-1.249 you would get 3.25% hp and if you have a trigger of -1.250-1.299 you would receive 4.25%. So a 4.25% end of the year hit would be a very exteme hit. Keep in mind this could be the result of one run in -1500 feet or air. A combination rated at 400hp for example would receive 18hp at year end with one trigger of -1.250-1.299.

Ok thank you. Im in no danger to go 1.0 under. But I know there’s guys with my combination that can. So I’ve been watching this. In the event I can get back out there this year. Maybe my slow car will help with the average. Im hopping drag insights or nitro Joe starts tracking this. So it’s easier to keep track of where a combos average is as the year goes on.

Nothing like an over complicated system to lure new racers into the category. At a time when new blood is needed, let's make it more difficult.
