What is the benefit of sportsman racers s****ing on other sportsman classes? Especially by someone trying to sell services to those same racers?

No but why did Top Dragster and Top Sportsman became a thing? We already had 3 classes of dragsters (TF, TAD, S/C). We have many more classes of shell bodied cars (FC, TAFC, Pro Stock, Pro Mod, S/G).

It doesn't even look like Top Dragster is running at this event.
If they were, the quota would be lower. They don't pull in with open trailers and pick up trucks. |

Those classes were very popular in IHRA, so NHRA probably wanted to get a piece of the action.

Perusing the entry lists, there are two things I'm very excited to see:
1. McNeal Freeman running S/C in the taxicab 2. Tim Lowe's FSS/I 2015 Chevy with a Chrysler 350 in it I also learned that many Super Stock racers cannot identify the correct spelling of 'Chevrolet' from a lineup. ![]()

I'd guess that some racers like to go fast at a reasonable cost. And, as TOSTO mentioned, the tech is easy, no fuel check, and tiny payout. No brainer for NHRA.

When NHRA added TS and TD, I figured it was just a matter of time before SC, SG and SST were doomed at National Events, but nope. They must love the entry fees.

Bubski would like to remind You !! They're in the NHRA rule book as a class !! You may not like that but that's the way it is !! Those racers truly support the aftermarket with their vehicles and race all out to the finish line for the most part !! Unlike Stock and Super Stock !! No deals, NO 1000 foot runs , easier for the common folk to understand !! Cheers !!
