Default ECAE Alternator Belt slipping

Hello,
I updated my alternator this season from an ECAE 55a mini to the ECAE 120a CS130.
The mini 55a alternator pulley fit belt #15330 perfectly, just did not put out enough.
On the 120a, belt #15330 rides way high in the pulley, slips, and obviously does not keep up while idling through the pits. I can easily rotate the alternator with a ratchet and 2 fingers.

I called East Coast Electric and he said to crank on it and tighten it up more. The belt is very tight now. I am hesitant to use a breaker bar and tighten it up more which I feel would sideload the crankshaft.

What are your thoughts on how high this rides in the pulley?
How tight is too tight?

Thank you,
Clark

That's too wide of a belt for that alternator pulley. Does it protrude on the crank pulley like that also, or does it ride flush with the top of the pulley?

Belt TOO high---should be even or a little below top edge of pulley---FED 387

I would take that belt to NAPA and look for one a little narrower.

It rides perfect on the GZ crank pulley paired to the alternator.

15330 dayco is 11.1mm / .44 inch wide.
Goodyear belt #7334 is 8mm and I wonder if that would ride too deep on the crank pulley.

Hey Clark, do you still have the little alternator? If so, can you swap the pulley over to the 120? Just a thought...

Just swap pulleys from your old alt. to the new.

Asked them about swapping, but he said the pulley is different... perhaps shaft size or offset. I did email him the pic. I appreciate the ideas.
