I believe that they just didn't have enough alternates waiting to be paired up. Several cars who didn't make the show were never unloaded and ready at the back of the lanes. Not sure why that was. Maybe they didn't think they had a chance to be in the show.

Those that weren’t prepared to get in as an alternate apparently don’t know recent history but based on how savvy some of them are it’s possible they leaned on their cars just a bit too hard trying to qualify.

Duane, your car got a lot of well deserved attention. Neat car.
