Todd,
An open class would be exempt from the ahfs. All open class racers would still have to conform to all the tech rules in tear down for their combination; just as if they were not in an open class. Then in the eliminator the open cars would run heads up if they are paired on the ladder. For example an open A/SA car would runs heads up against another open A/SA car. But the same open car would have to put a dial on his window if he had to run a non open A/SA. It's sounds more complicated than it really is. Actually it's pretty simple.

Bruce, Current eliminator works like that now. No break out for heads up. The thing I see as a problem if an Open class were created it would be populated by one car in time. The most bogus. Current Heads up TOP/S and TOP/SS give Heads up opportunity and runs are outside AHFS but many combinations are being run and they are so far above the wt breaks for most bogus motors... Some ask for Jr. Stock and Low stock but thats where most factoring problems arise....Most of the upper class cars are fairly well factored evenly.

Dick,
The most bogus? You didn't read all of my post. This hypothetical class would have to go through tear down just like the rest of the classes. The open classes have more potential than the Top Stock Class because of tear down. The ahfs will be a thorn in the side of class racers until some device is put in place to separate the racers who want to go fast and the racers who come to race the eliminator. It doesn't have to be my little "open classes" idea but these two groups of racers have to be separated in some fashion for this to go away.
