Default Live from “ Lucas Oil Nationals “ BIR

I will start the thread, but anyone please jump in. Stacking started this morning and I think there are approximately 75 rigs in line. We are parked on the road course as usual and parking should begin in the morning. Class wIll be run on Thursday for both Stock and S/S. With only 55 cars in each class, I sure the combo field will busy. The first National event at BIR was run in 1982, but we missed a year because of Covid. More to follow. Dyno.

Is this the race where the spectators have a special place and all of the fun?

Good luck to all

Darcy, good to see you back in the US and on tour. You and Cotten usually vie for the long distance award and with current diesel prices not many want in that competition.

I just got here and was told just about everyone is here.Only about 30-40 more rigs to go.
My first observation is how bare the pits look.I can't believe they don't raise the quotas in classes like Stock Eliminator. They are turning away such easy money. But it is supposed to rain,so maybe it's good there are only 55 cars.

It's pretty amazing, isn't it?

The issue can't be the pit space because I keep reading these reports of bare pit areas. And, I am pretty sure the Brainerd Stock quota was 80 (75 at least) only a few years ago and every other quota was similarly higher. I guess all the race tracks are getting smaller.

The issue can't be the schedule or track curfew because why wasn't schedule a problem 15 years ago when there were easily 100+ Stockers and 70+ SSers at many of these races?
Or why wasn't schedule a problem 3 years ago when the quotas were 20 cars higher at many of these races? I guess the days are getting shorter.

Hmm...guess it'll remain a mystery why the sportsman quotas continue to dwindle...

If anybody needs a spare crew ticket, 1/2 price 50.00, PM me here, or find me in the pits, I'm in the north section by the lake.

Parking went well today, about 2 hours to get in. If you arrived after 1:00, it was a straight drive in. As mentioned above there is a lot of parking spaces open. The quota’s could have been larger. Supposed to rain around midnight, then decent weather until late afternoon tomorrow. Two time runs, then class tomorrow.

A quota at this race makes no sense to me considering the class eliminations, location and two weeks until Indy.
I guess the N.H.R.A. doesn't need the revenue.
