I’m not sure if this motor will work. I’m checking all the specs. I do know the cam has to be 390/410. I can claim 78-79. It is a 175hp. I’m new to all this so I just want to make sure I don’t buy something I have to do a lot of changes to. I have 2 guys that are supposed to have motors that I’m waiting on to purchase but you know how that goes. I haven’t heard from them in awhile. Deals fall thru all the time.

Right off I would have thought the dish on piston would have been different. After looking at spec's the dish, and cam are the same. I didn't look at heads.

The pistons on the 245 horse are flat top with notches. the cam is 450/460 lift. The heads are the same number but differant size valves. The 78-79 motor has dish pistons and 390/410 lift cam. they did not offer the 245 hp. engine in 78 or 79.

As stated, the engine is specific to 1973 Camaro/Corvette. The NHRA rating is 294 on Camaro, 315 on Corvette, sorry for any misunderstanding.
