Before you carve it up, I would check with the collecting world. That piece
might be worth some serious money, and then you could buy current
parts that may or may not be better suited for what you want to do.

I live 30 min.from Tonawanda N.Y back 40 yrs. ago these 292 turbo heads bare castings were all over the area $200 a pair,,,angle plug,,, and the winters foundry BBalum. intakes i was offered 1 for next to nothing,was sml.blk guy .get it all

A lot of parts went out the back door at Tonawanda.

A good friend went to General Motors Institute in the late 60s. It was an engineering college where you also switched from classroom to a GM facility throughout the year.

One of his fraternity brothers did his co-op at Tonawanda. He was a legend since he managed to take home all the pieces for an L88 other than the crank by other than official procedures.

Yes, I did hear the explanation for how he managed the heads but after all these years I can't remember.
